The Dover Boys is also important in animation history. It was the first cartoon to employ “smear animation” where instead of fully animating each individual movement some of the animation cells are abstract blurs or smears so as to convey sudden and abrupt movement. It was a pretty important invoation in the history of animation as people more and more went away from the idea that cartoons had to convey “realistic” movement
Thank you, I’ve been barking this at all of my friends since it became a meme and they just discovered it. Also important to note that Chuck Jones made the entire animation as a sort of “Fuck You” to Warner Brothers for bitching at him to make less cartoons about talking animals. He was like “okay bitch, you want the same slop that everyone else is making? Here.” And he proceeded to make the most bitterly self-aware animation ever made, wherein each character is a complete slur of their archetype. (See: Dan Backslide announcing everything he does out loud and hating a random group of college kids for no reason) Jones has been quoted multiple times as saying that the Dover Boys was “the first cartoon he made that he thought was actually funny”. Warner Brothers got so pissed off that they almost fired him over Dover Boys, but Jones knew they couldn’t afford to because he was such an asset to them, and of course, they didn’t. So yeah, the Dover Boys is not only a piece of animation history, but it’s also a self-aware, passive-aggressive love-letter to Warner Brothers.
This is the official Adult Swim announcement about the new season of Samurai Jack (from December 2015). Notice how I highlighted the words “continues” and “new season” for you.
Notice how Adult Swim has been very clear from the beginning that this isn’t a reboot. They’re not starting over again ; they’re continuing the story.
Now stop calling it a reboot and being all “other reboots suck so I’m afraid the new SJ will suck too” when it’s NOT A FUCKING REBOOT >_<
walking up to the counter and paying for it usually does the trick
bruh
Bring a thicker jacket with you (like a jean jacket or something) and wrap the books you wanna lift in it and carry the book filled jacket under your arm in a little ball or something.
Its the method I use to grocery shop like weekly and I’m sure nobody questions the jean jacket in 80 degree weather cuz I seem like a jean jacket wearing hip guy.
Tumblr: where heaven forbid you make a dark joke because it’s somehow normalizing the behavior, but giving people tips on how to shoplift is a-ok!
I like how they responded with posting a pic of their empty wallet. Like, just don’t buy it, then. They already have places for broke people who want to read books: they’re called “libraries”.
^^^^
Also why would you risk getting arrested over something as easily pirated as books Like, not to give tips to a potential criminal but you could probably find any book you’re interested in on the magic glowing box you used to put forward your intentions of theft. At least that way you’re not hurting employees from the store.
Piracy is really no differnt that checking it out from a library or borrowing it from a friend because you’re reading it without giving a dime either way.
Shoplifting is actually stealing a copy the store paid for, thus stealing the profit that would’ve made. When they happens enough it get’s taken out on the employees.
If i told someone who wasnt familiar woth tumblr that there was a shoplifting fandom, no one would believe me.
While i am here, maybe dont flash your wallet, that shows your picture and full name after you admit to at least attempted crime.
In case that is an unrelated persons wallet, you have just put them in danger of being reported, which is also not okay.
Firstly, lets look at the hand ship that Homeworld sent to earth:
The biggest question here being; why build a spaceship that looks like a hand? Other than the fact it looks cool as heck, it was clearly attached to a much larger construct due to the massive port on the wrist. Another thing to keep in mind is the green colour of the ship, but i’ll be coming back to that later.
I have reason to believe that this ship came off of a huge gem temple, located back on homeworld.
